This Charger is controlled by an intelligent Microprocessor and designed to charge Nickel Metal
Hydride and Nickel Cadmium AA, AAA size rechargeable batteries. Please note that the charger
must not be used for Alkaline, Zinc Carbon, Lithium or any kind of battery other than Nickel Metal
Hydride or Nickel Cadmium. Charging current is 800mA for AA and 300mA for AAA. This is why
charging times of less than 4 hours can be achieved, depending on battery capacities.
Charger Description:
Charging is controlled by a special intelligent Microprocessor, supplying optimum charging
current to prolong battery cycle life and accelerate charging; The unit can charge 2/4 AA or
2/4 AAA batteries at a time; Automatic charge current selection for size AA & AAA; Faulty cell
detection; Reverse-polarity protection; LED display for rapid charge / trickle charge / faulty cell
detection.
Safety features
-dV cut off function when battery is fully charged;
Maximum temperature cut off function;
Safety timer cut off.
Instructions for use
1. To connect the charger to the mains.
Connect the mains adaptor output plug to the charger input socket. Connect the mains
adaptor AC input plug to suitable AC mains.
1a. To use the charger in a vehicle.
Connect the cigarette plug output plug to the charger input socket. Connect the DC input
plug (cigarette lighter plug) into the vehicle cigarette lighter socket. [12volt negative earth
systems only]
2. Selector switch and inserting batteries into the charger.
Insert batteries into the charger as per the”+“-“ indication. To charge 4 AA batteries, slide
the battery switch to the “4” position and put 4 batteries in the charger. To charge 2 batteries,
slide the battery switch to the “2” position and put 2 batteries in the left two channels. It is not
possible to charge 1 or 3 batteries. Please see Fig1.
3. Charging and LED indication The LED “Power(red) on the charger is illuminated to indicate
the charger is on.
The LED “Charge/Ready” is illuminated red to indicate batteries are fast charging.
The LED “Charge/Ready” illuminates green to indicate batteries are now fully charged.
The LED “Charge/Ready” flashes red to indicate a faulty cell.
